Project: Kunstbende

I just finished my kimono right now.
And I think it looks okay.
The finishing of the hem made it clearly much better.
It just looks more neatly.

This is the first piece that I finished from the entire collection.
And it's going well with the rest cause I went material shopping.
It will be interesting.

Here are some pictures on my beautiful model.

Project: Kunstbende

Yes, the troubles occurred.
The exact colour of zipper for the skirt is not available anymore so I have to wait.
And I can't attach the waistband because of it.

BUT I started to work on a t-shirt.
It comes with a pair of pants or shorts (I'm not sure yet), and it's the only outfit that I'll make for men.
I won't post a picture of it, cause it's really not fascinating.

Also I have a kimono that I almost forgot to mention.
It's not done yet, just like everything of this collection...
It's pretty simple, but I think it's okay.
The little twist is that the kimono has a split in the back.
The borders need their finish and then the kimono will be done.

Here are some pictures of the kimono!

The kimono is knee lenght and baggy.

 This is the sleeve.

This is the split in the back, it's as long as the splits in the side.
It begins a little above the butt.

Project: Kunstbende

So yesterday and today I worked on a skirt I want to include to the collection.
It's also geometrical but not assymetrical.

The fabric is very light and almost see-throught, the hem is a suede kind of fabric and nice to work with.

I now need to sew in the zipper on the left side and make a waistband out of the same black suede like fabric.
Then it will be done.

Here are some pictures.

Project: Kunstbende

Hi everybody,

I take part in a Belgian art contest in the category fashion.
The task is to create a collection that I made myself by the 22nd of February.
So the possibilities are endeless.

My collection name is Paperplanes, it's supposed to be simplistic but creative.
I chose my colours that are white, black and darkblue.
I think they're quite sipmle and you can do a lot with them.

All garments are already drawn, but I'm not sure if I have enough time to make them all.
One piece is already finished and I'll show you a picture below.
Also I will post updates of what I make and how far I come.

If you want to follow my journey, you can here, I'll post something at least every week.
Enjoy!

Balenciaga Pre-fall 2014

There are plenty of great high-fashion brands out.
Balenciaga is definitely one of them.
And their pre-fall collection is here!
The colours are simple: black, white and grey.
The models are loose fitting and artistic.
I love how all the fabrics fall in place perfectly and smooth.
Most fabrics are thicker felt-like, leather or a neoprene kind of fabric.
